As a business owner I am always reviewing our offering, flexible workspace solutions, and seeking out the latest products and trends so we can continuously add value for our clients.
To keep abreast of industry trends I attended the annual workspace conference hosted by our international affiliate ABCN in Los Angeles this month.
The most interesting finding from this event was to discover that up to 40% of American workers are working off-site. What does this mean? Firstly that workers are being measured by outputs rather than time spent on-site and secondly working remotely is becoming a more viable solution across a range of industries with the support of new technologies including cloud based software and the added variety of flexible workspace options.
Now not only are more workers offered the opportunity to work outside the traditional corporate office but also in more professional environments closer to home or their client base.
The centres offering these services and experiencing the most success in the United States have been hybrid centres. Hybrid centres have a mixed floor plan offering a range of workspace solutions from annual rentals of serviced private suites to casual open plan co-work desk rentals, business lounge access and a range of meeting spaces all in one location.
It struck me that this hybrid centre model was pretty much on par with the range of services and floor plan of our 55 Hunter Street location where we offer private serviced suites alongside co-work open plan flex-desk rentals and ourMemberAccess::: Business Lounge.
The affirmation I received at the conference that we were on the right track back here in Australia reinforced the decision we have made to add value by offering more hybrid workspace solutions at our 37 Bligh Street Centre (works are now underway) and our Edgecliff location, ear-marked for a development later this winter.
